Venues for matches

We recognise that many teams in our League do not have a home venue. In the past the Young Chelsea has been a popular choice but that club is undergoing its own tribulations. As last year, Philip Watson and David Hull have researched a number of potential venues. These are outlined in the 'Venues for Matches' document (linked from the left on all pages).

If anybody has information or ideas on venues, please contact to amend or add to the page. And we will be interested to hear how new venues turn out, so do give us your feedback. Details will change, so check the up-to-date link before contacting a venue to fix a match.

What Happened at the AGM?

Pretty quiet it seems. You can read the draft minutes. Of main note:

  1. The divisions are renamed 'One', 'Two', … The meeting felt that the previous 'Premier' only had meaning when there were East/West layers underneath, reflecting then that the top division was city-wide. Now that we have a strictly vertical arrangement that implication has been lost.

  2. Victory Point scales are changing world-wide. The AGM decided to adopt the WBF discrete scale promoted by the EBU.

This is the scale we will be using for 2013-14 and the future.

    IMP Diff.VPs
    0 – 110 – 10
    2 – 511 – 9
    6 – 1012 – 8
    11 – 1513 – 7
    16 – 2114 – 6
    22 – 2715 – 5
    28 – 3416 – 4
    35 – 4317 – 3
    44 – 5318 – 2
    54 – 6519 – 1
    66+20 – 0

You can read about the rational for those on the EBU site. There's also an announcement of their adoption which contains a link to the VP Scale Ready-Reckoner.
